Should you use My Care Plus?
It is worth noting that more than fifty community oncology practices across the country are already using this innovative technology. In addition to their own personal medical information, registered patients receiving treatment at these offices can also access educational information to assist them during diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Resources include comprehensive drug information, including overviews of single- and multi-agent drug regimens detailing administration and potential side effects, developed by a team of healthcare professionals at McKesson Specialty Health.
Additional resources, including patient experiences and cancer guides, are also now available for patients to help them on their cancer journey. Information on diseases and conditions provided by the American Cancer Society will be released later this year.
My Care Plus Education
The new educational content in My Care Plus will help oncology practices achieve one of the goals required by the Medicaid and Medicare EHR incentive programs for “meaningful use” of certified EHR technology.
My Care Plus Providers
In Meaningful Use Stage one (1), patient-specific educational materials are already a goal that providers can choose to achieve. Since 2014, Stage two (2) of Significant Use requires qualified professionals to provide educational resources to patients. With My Care Plus, practices using iKnowMed or iKnowMed Generation two (2) can more easily deliver educational information digitally and improve communication with patients.

By completing the necessary consent forms at your doctor’s office, you will be able to register for My Care Plus and access your personal health record (PHR) online with the ability to review, save and print your health information, and share them with others your family and caregivers. You no longer need to contact your clinic to request this information and they include;
